In a nutshell: total awesomeness. 4 Missions, 3 check points each. All themed after the amazing movie 12 Monkeys. Covering about every piece of Philly you could possibly ride in (I think). Here’s the breakdown.

I rode the Chinatown bus in the morning with John and Rob. A lady in front of us had her wig fall off and I watched in disbelief as she scrambled to get this thing back in position. What made this even better was this was a Dionne Warwick looking wig. It was funny as shit. We get to Philly and proceed to go to a giant indoor farmers market type thing where we eat a huge ass breakfast and meet up with Philly Josh who gives us a quick tour of the city and we head to the race start.

12 Monkeys starts with a foot race underground to get the manifest and a mad dash back to the bikes. At the "bugs" checkpoint I get a flat and curse my own stupid self for dragging my bike up a curb. After everyone has taken off a crazy lady wearing a dress and a Rite-Aid vest approaches me and asks if I've found Jesus. I would like to point out that there is no fucking Rite Aid anywhere near where I am. So awesome. While walking to the next checkpoint Austin from Boston stops and gives me beers (no shit I’m not making this up) for my walk. I make it to the check point where Brad from Trackstar hooks me up with a tube and pump. Thanks again Brad.

I meet John and Rob again at that checkpoint and ride out the top of some giant ass hill in West Philly. I lose them at the top; then I notice my sidewall is blown out and the tube is sticking through. I realize I'm going to need to ride easy to get back, and pretty much made the rest of the day is a fun ride.

I got incredibly lost, saw a ton of Philly, made it to the party, drank 40's in a bar for 3 dollars, and had a great time.

Philly I love you. I cannot wait to ride in your city again.

Oh yeah a bunch of bums worked a checkpoint. Fucking brilliant.
